Mike Jackson has a wide experience of pre-hospital emergency care spanning over 35 years with an interest in the management of Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) and the management of major trauma. His clinical practice involves assessing and treating a wide spectrum of life threatening conditions such as heart attack, stroke, respiratory conditions and obstetric emergencies and managing serious traumatic injuries arising from RTCs, assaults, falls from height and industrial accidents.

Since his appointed in 2007 as a Consultant and Chief Paramedic with North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust he has undertaken a heavy clinical workload in all his areas of interest.

Fifty percent of his time is spent in clinical practice providing care and treatment to patients and advice to paramedics on the frontline and is responsible for the leadership and supervision of over 3000 pre-hospital clinicians including 160 Senior, Advanced and Consultant Paramedics. He works with the North West Air Ambulance Service as a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Paramedic.

He is very experienced in operating in high pressured environments and is the lead pitch paramedic operating on match days at Liverpool Football Club. He is also a faculty member and instructor for the Football Association Advanced Resuscitation Emergency Aid Course (AREA).

He is the regional ambulance clinical lead for Major Trauma and was a member of the recent NICE Clinical Development Group for Trauma. He is also Chair of the National Ambulance Lead Paramedic Group and is an Honorary Lecture at Liverpool John Moores University.

As a consultant paramedic, assistant clinical director and clinical lecturer in pre-hospital care Mike has a vast experience in his specialist field and as such is appointed on many cases as an expert witness.
